At AwakenHub, we love shining a light on our founders - meet Magda Targosz, the powerhouse behind Mind Compass AI—a data-driven platform helping CFOs optimise workforce spending and maximise employee engagement.
With a background spanning Mastercard, AIB, Ryanair, Global Payments, and Dell, Magda brings two decades of corporate leadership experience to her startup journey. She’s on a mission to solve a costly industry challenge: companies invest millions in employee benefits, yet 75% go unused or fail to improve retention.
Mind Compass AI bridges this gap by providing CFOs with AI-powered insights that turn workforce data into smarter, revenue-optimised decisions.
Magda’s journey from corporate strategist to tech founder has been both exhilarating and challenging—navigating fundraising as a solo female entrepreneur, pivoting her business model based on market demand, and proving the power of AI-driven workforce intelligence. But through it all, she remains committed to building with integrity, backing decisions with data, and ensuring AI serves people—not replaces them.
We’re thrilled to have Magda as part of SheGenerate, supported by AIB and British Business Bank, and we can’t wait to see her continue making waves in the world of workforce innovation. 🚀
To get us started – how would you describe yourself in six words or less?
Resilient strategist, data-driven, results-focused leader.
What prompted you to start your business?
After two decades in corporate leadership, I saw firsthand how much money was wasted on underutilised benefits and ineffective workforce strategies. Companies, especially data centres and infrastructure-heavy industries, invest millions in employee support programs—yet 75% of those benefits go unused or fail to improve retention and productivity.
I started Mind Compass AI to solve this gap for CFOs by offering data-driven, revenue-optimised workforce solutions. Our AI-powered platform matches employee needs with actual benefits usage, giving CFOs clear insights into cost-saving opportunities while improving engagement and retention.
The demand is clear: CFOs in data centres need smarter ways to allocate HR spend, reduce turnover, and ensure employees stay productive.
Tell us a little bit more about you.
I’m Magda, originally from Poland but now based in Ireland. My career has spanned HR, product strategy, and revenue optimisation across global organisations. I hold an Executive MBA from Trinity Business School and a degree in Psychopedagogy.
My journey has been shaped by problem-solving at scale, working with leadership teams to unlock new revenue streams, optimise costs, and drive business transformation.
Outside work, I’m a passionate advocate for neurodiversity in leadership (I’m neurodivergent myself) and enjoy bullet journaling, handmaking jewellery, and drawing—which helps me stay organised and creative.
What has your experience as a founder been like?
The Good: Launching Mind Compass AI has been exhilarating—I’ve had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI solutions and speak at events on the future of work. We’ve already secured pilots with Kaizen Manufacturing and are in talks with UK-based companies, proving the demand for data-driven workforce optimisation.
The Challenges: Fundraising as a solo founder in a sector dominated by technical and financial decision-makers has been tough. CFOs are incredibly numbers-driven, so I’ve had to shift my messaging from ‘wellbeing’ to hard cost savings and workforce ROI to gain traction.
What I’ve Learned: The market dictates your positioning. While I started with a broader corporate wellness focus, I pivoted towards Total Rewards and Benefits optimisation after realising CFOs cared more about cost-efficiency than engagement metrics alone.
Being a Founder: It means navigating spaces where women are often the minority—especially in sectors like finance and AI. But it also means bringing a different perspective—one that blends commercial strategy with people-centric insights.
